Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) on Friday (February 26, 2016) launched the all-new Toyota Innova  at the Bellevue Hotel in Tagbilaran, Bohol. The Innova completes the upgraded lineup of Toyota’s international Innovative Multi-Purpose Vehicle (IMV) series, which also includes the Hilux and the Fortuner. Prices start at P919,000 for the J gas manual transmission to P1.46 million for the V Diesel Automatic Transmission WP. Kia announces official service app

South Korean automobile company Kia announced their official service app on Tuesday, February 23. The app, called Kia Service, offers a new, high-tech, and convenient way for Kia vehicle owners. Through the app, Kia owners can now ask for road assistance, schedule an appointment, and view vehicle information regarding repairs or maintenance services anytime and anywhere, straight from their mobile phones. Columbian Autocar Corporation (CAC) is the exclusive distributor of Kia in the Philippines. CAC President Ginia R. Domingo said, “Today’s market is really on-the-go and consumers are more reliant on their smartphones for various wants and needs. LG Chem to supply electric vehicle batteries to Chrysler

By Kim Jung-hwan, Maeil Business News Korea LG Chem Ltd., South Korea’s leading chemicals and battery maker, said on Monday that it has signed a contract with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles N.V. to supply electric vehicle batteries from late this year. LG Chem already has similar arrangements with two major North American carmakers General Motors Corporation and Ford Motor Company. According to LG Chem, it will provide 16-kilowatt-per-hour battery packs to Fiat Chrysler Automobiles for the plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) version of its minivan Pacifica that is slated to be mass-produced later this year. The Korean company plans to produce and supply batteries at its facility in Holland, Michigan. Hyundai Motor’s Genesis G90 to land Q3 2016 in the US

By Noh Won-myung, Maeil Business News Korea South Korea’s auto giant Hyundai Motor Co. is expected to roll out the G90 and G80 sedans under its new stand alone luxury brand Genesis in the United States in the third quarter with hopes to sell a total 30,000 units of its premium sedans in the world’s second largest auto market this year. According to local industry sources on Friday, Hyundai Motor is expected to introduce its upscale Genesis models, the G80 that will be renamed from the current Genesis DH and the G90 sold in Korea as the EQ900, in the U.S. market in the third quarter this year. Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. expands to trucks and buses

Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI) expands its lineup of vehicles as an official distributor of Hyundai commercial vehicles in the Philippines. Last Feb. 15, coinciding with HARI’s 15th anniversary, executives from South Korea’s Hyundai Motor Company (HMC); Kim It Tae, Director of Commercial Vehicles, Hyundai Motor Company; and Kang Seong-Gi, General Manager, Commercial Vehicles Asia & Pacific Headquarters,  formalized the partnership by signing a memorandum of agreement with HARI president and CEO, Ma. SUVs are certainly shaping up to be the favoured mode of transport for motorists. Yet among them, only a handful can actually live up to the promise of actually exploring roads less travelled. Formula E announces new Berlin race venue

The electric Formula E series plans to race in central Berlin in May because last year's venue at the city's disused Tempelhof airport is now being used to shelter asylum seekers, organizers said on Monday, February 15. Formula E said in a statement that the new layout, which remains subject to approval by city authorities, will wind around Strausberger Platz toward Alexanderplatz with the pitlane on Karl-Marx-Allee. "It is fantastic news that we have been able to find a new location to race in Berlin," said Formula E chief executive Alejandro Agag, whose series has important German partners including DHL and BMW.
