Netflix releases first teaser trailer for Gilmore Girls

Filipinos take top prizes in Japan soy sauce cook fest

Two Japan-based Filipinos bagged top prizes in a soy sauce cooking competition. The Japan Times reported that Clair Ocampo, a Filipina based in Saitama Prefecture, won first prize for her "pork back ribs adobo and banana with burned brown sugar" at the eighth Soy Sauce Recipe & Story Contest. The competition was held at the Royal Park Hotel In Tokyo. “I have loved adobo since my childhood. I used soy sauce and brown sugar to better bring out the pork’s flavor. Also, to give it an interesting taste, I used hakkaku spice and laurel leaves. My dish is unique and original,” Ocampo told The Japan Times. Britney warns ad exec for ‘fraudulent’ music video deal

Britney Spears warned an advertising executive who claimed to represent her in a deal with a dating app. TMZ reported that Spears’ lawyer had sent a threatening letter to Adam Kluger for the “fraudulent” deal of negotiating with the dating service Bumble to fund her music video without the singer’s knowledge. The letter stated that Kluger told Bumble he is authorized to represent Spears for the $800,000 deal of placing Bumble’s name throughout the music video. It also said Kluger received $200,000 from Bumble and asked Spears’ label RCA to pay them $450,000 for the promotion. CPP cautions Duterte on rekindling PH-China ties

The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) called on China to respect the Philippines’ sovereignty and territorial integrity and warned President Rodrigo Duterte to exercise caution in rebuilding ties in a China that has an “imperialist self-interest.” This comes amid the ongoing peace negotiations between the Philippines and the CPP to end the conflict, which is one of the world’s longest communist insurgencies.   “It is in the geopolitical interest of China to turn the Philippines into a bastion of anti-U.S. imperialism. Facebook expands Safety Center, Bullying Prevention Hub

Social media giant Facebook has relaunched its Safety Center and Bullying Prevention Hub with the aim of encouraging safe and secure sharing among its users. Tuesday markets: Peso-dollar rate at P48.34; stocks down

The peso and stock market both ended lower Tuesday, October 25. The Philippine peso–US dollar exchange rate at the Philippine Dealing and Exchange Corporation (PDEX) closed at P48.34, weaker than Monday’s (October 24) rate at P48.19. At the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas reference exchange rate bulletin, the exchange rate was pegged at P48.29 to the greenback. Likewise, the bellwether Philippine Stock Exchange Index (PSEi) shed 29.09 points (0.38%) to close at 7,580.22. The all-shares index also slipped by 7.86 points (0.18%) at 4,491.09.
