10 things to observe when flying

Tempers can soar in plane flights, especially for long haul journeys. Perhaps, because of differences in outlook, cultures and modes of behavioral patterns, passengers’ actions irk their co-passengers. An airport poll revealed the following results: 1)      The reclining of seats, after the seatbelt lights are turned off, is the biggest no-no, with more than half of poll respondents saying it was bothersome. 2)      The second biggest annoyance was caused by people who monopolized seat armrests. 3)      Customers being rude to cabin crew was also pointed out. 4)      Bringing oversized carry-on bags. This is a very Pinoy trait; which includes bringing more than one pouch, handbag, satchel or hand-carry item. 5)      Talking loudly. Turkey flicks

Fans and followers of the annual Golden Raspberry awards or the Razzies, as industry insiders call it, are well aware of films given the ‘turkey’ or hands-down rating by critics. The awards are given a night before the Oscar ceremonies. In some years, films nominated at the American Academy had been nominated, too, at the Razzies. The nominated films are not really that bad, well, most of the time they are. Caldiero is first American Ninja Warrior winner

Isaac Caldiero, a busboy and, more importantly, a rock climber whose back muscles have their own muscles, was proclaimed the first winner at the close of seventh season of the American Ninja Warrior series. According to writer Hillary Busis, Caldiero’s American Ninja Warrior triumph might not seem like a huge deal. However, the American Ninja Warrior is seven seasons old. Six of those seasons concluded without anyone being crowned a winner, because the show's final obstacle course was just too damn hard. On the 7th season finale, though, history was made: Not one, but two competitors — Caldiero and cameraman Geoff Britten, whose forearms are so enormous that he's nicknamed "Popeye" — completed the entire course, including the 75-foot rope climb that serves as its fourth and final "stage." To make things even more amazing, both Britten and Caldiero managed …

Traslacion procession continues

Now on its 15th hour, the Black Nazarene procession continues on its route back to the Quiapo Church. Despite the sea of devotees seemingly hindering the progress of the procession, the carriage bearing the Poong Nazareno has picked up its pace and is now moving  a bit faster from Nepomuceno Street. At least one person has been reported dead, according to a news update by CNNPhilippines. The annual procession commemorates the transfer of the Black Nazarene from Intramuros to the Quiapo Church. The procession route has been shortened, skipping streets that are under repair. From Quezon Boulevard, the procession turns to Lodo de Oro then unto Plaza Villalobos and then Plaza Miranda where the procession finally draws to a close. The procession is expected to reach Quiapo Church by 4 am Sunday morning. An …

Zayn Malik tells all in a Billboard cover story

Zayn Malik has spoken out in a revealing Billboard cover story. “I'm Not Censoring Myself Anymore,” the headline in a cover story written by Chris Martins and published last January 7th, detailed what happened to Zayn after leaving One Direction. In a photo shoot, the former 1D member appears with a sexy and brooding look for Billboard’s magazine cover. It seems like Zayn has finally found serenity from the turmoil following his departure from the famous boy band.  During a wave of fan stalking, Zayn changed his hair color at least five times; finally opting for a grayish tint of late.   Zayn says his former band’s music was “generic” and nowhere near the music that he wanted to sing long-term. 1D mentor Simon Cowell called his remark as “rude.” As to his latest …

Letters as seen from outer space

It's not only the Great Wall of  China, nor the Plains of Nazca in Southern Peru, that's visible from the heavens. Read on to see all 26 letters as compiled by the MSN news team.
