A 15-minute video of a recent interview with the incoming president went viral on social media, Monday morning (May 16, 2016). The video, which was uploaded in the Rodrigo Roa Duterte YouTube channel, reveals Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte’s plans once he assumes the highest position next month, including a shoot-to-kill order in battling drugs and criminality. Prior to taking his oath as the 16th President of the Republic of the Philippines, Duterte informed a group of supporters and members of the media in Davao City that he would like to be addressed “Mayor” or “Mayor of the Philippines” instead of the usual titles given to him such as “Mayor President” or “President-elect”. Robredo camp holds thanksgiving mass for peaceful elections

Vice presidential frontrunner Ma. Leonor “Leni” Robredo and her supporters held a thanksgiving mass for the successful and peaceful May 9 elections. Robredo’s camp gathered on Sunday (May 15, 2016) at the Church of Gesu in Ateneo de Manila University, Quezon City. Prior to the “multi-sectoral thanksgiving mass”, Leni’s daughter Aika Robredo led the praying of the rosary at around 2:30 p.m. together with family, campaign team, and some 2,000 supporters who were garbed in yellow. The live feed of the mass held at 3 p.m. was also shared through the Liberal Party vice presidential bet’s Facebook page. From Asian Dragon’s “would-be president” to TIME’s “Philippines’ new leader”. Official photographer Edwin Tuyay clarified that the Davao City Mayor did not specifically pose for the said magazine cover. This was just part of the photos taken for the August issue of Asian Dragon Magazine in 2015.   Tuyay took to Facebook to bare a PDF file of the TIME magazine cover which features a black-and-white photo of Duterte that he took last year. He informed everyone that the photo of Duterte, dubbed by TIME as “The Punisher”, was only bought for one-time use only and was part of the series of photos for Asian Dragon Magazine.
