Business center for Catbalogan

Catbalogan City – An agreement to build a business center in the city is one of the accomplishments cited by Mayor Stephany Uy-Tan during her first 100 days in office.

Tan told reporters the city government has signed agreement with the Philippine Primark Properties, Inc. (PPPI) to build the business center near the public market.  She said that PPPI will also help the city repair the central public and coastal markets before the end of this year.

Another major achievement is the improved tax collection, Tan said. Catbalogan posted a P55-million tax collection, just P9 million short of target which she said can be reached before the end of this year.

Tan said her administration has also established the City Economic Enterprise and Investment Potentials, which is in charge of attracting and coordinating with investors who will want to locate in the city.

The city has also boosted its tourism campaign by establishing tour packages and a tourism center.

Tan said the city’s housing project has been launched and the campaign for the proper waste disposal has been strengthened.

She is optimistic that more projects will be implemented this year after the city’s share in the internal revenue allotment was increased to P547 million from last year’s P466 million.
