. The modern supercar is propelled by a naturally-aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine, bucking the current trend of competitors that have replaced large displacement engines with smaller ones, assisted by turbos or electric power units.

It makes an unmistakable arrival with full-LED headlights. Large air inlets with vertical fins flank the wide, signature Singleframe grill finished in gloss black. Another identifying mark of the V10 Plus are the carbon fiber sideblades in gloss silver in the standard model. The rear features a ventilation screen over the engine compartment, a broad air diffuser integrated into the rear bumper and, as standard in the V10 Plus, a carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) fixed wing.

The R8 V10 Plus is designed for maximum driving dynamics, being the fastest, sharpest, and most powerful production Audi of all time. Its 5.2-liter, 40-valve engine delivers 610 PS and 560 Nm of torque. All that power is distributed to all four wheels through the Quattro all-wheel drive system. With this powertrain, the R8 V10 Plus can do 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds, and will go on to a top speed of 330 km/h.

Reigning in all this power are 380-millimeter carbon ceramic brakes with six piston calipers up front and four-pistons at the rear. They’re hidden away behind 20 inch wheels with 245/30 tires in front and 305/30 at the rear.

Accelerating to high speeds is a tactile pleasure thanks to the quick-shifting seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission, that works in conjunction with an optimized mechanical differential lock, as well as a new electro-hydraulically-activated multi-plate clutch. In addition, the actively-cooled all-wheel drive system can distribute torque freely between the axles, while the intelligent dynamic control system for the Quattro drive is incorporated into the Audi drive select handling system that offers four basic modes — from relaxed highway cruiser, to race car on the track. In its performance mode, it offers three additional modes: dry, wet, and snow.

As with the previous model, the all-new R8 also has a body that is constructed using the Audi Space Frame (ASF). Large components of the occupant cell consist of carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP), while the front and rear body modules are built exclusively of aluminum. This allows the new generation R8 to tip the scales at just 1,555 kilograms.

The R8 V10 plus also comes standard with Audi virtual cockpit, a digital instrument cluster that is user configurable, and shows all displays in 3D graphics. If desired, it can display one large rev counter, along with auxiliary gauges that show much more information, such as tire temperature and torque output. Moreover, MMI Navigation Plus with MMI touch is standard equipment.

Prices for the 2017 Audi R8 V10 Plus are provided upon application and may vary depending on the options availed.
