As if a luxurious wedding reception was taking place inside the SM Mall of Asia, Wedding Essentials magazine, the ultimate guide for the wedding Pinay bride published by Manila Bulletin, exhibited “Dream Themes,” a road show that was a one-stop place for ideas and inspirations for every couple.

The event features different tablescapes from four of the most sought-after wedding stylists namely Gideon Hermosa, Teddy Manuel, Joyce Aguilar, and Michael Ruiz.

“The road show is the first of the four road shows we’re going to have. The next ones will be at SM Megamall, SM Makati, and SM Aura. We decided to do this for the bride to take a closer look at how we set up the reception and tablescapes. The theme is named after the magazine’s section ‘Dream Themes,’ the most anticipated and the most coveted section of the magazine,” says Kitten Zapata, editor-in-chief of Wedding Essentials.

The designers for the first leg each had a theme for their tablescapes. The themes are Luxe Botanical for Manuel, Luxe Filipinana for Ruiz, Luxe Antique for Aguilar, and Luxe Summer for Hermosa.

“When they gave me the concept, I thought of having a glass house as a major theme. I used a lot of macramé and more of the greens like succulents and some eucalyptus to make it look more organic. I even used a wooden table and chairs to give it an outdoor feel, a bit of al fresco but inside a glass house,” says Teddy.

Joyce, on the other hand, filled her table with roses and accents of gold for her theme.  “I used accents of gold and dainty sweet flowers and materials. All the items from SM and Crate & Barrel are in shades of pink, peach, white, and gold,” she says.

Michael’s reception was set on the green grass and used Filipino materials such as capiz shells and abaca. Gideon’s, on the other hand, was a dose of sunshine with his summer-themed garden-like reception abloom with white flowers and vines.

The event is in collaboration with SM Malls, SM Gift Registry, SM Home, Kultura, Crate & Barrel, National Book Store, Manila Bulletin, Josiah’s Catering, Juan Carlo the Caterer, Eve and Co., Sensitivity, 4th Wall, and Café France.

“It’s a roster of designers. We chose the four designers because they are the most sought-after and we wanted to do it with a bang. We’ve been collaborating with these artists for 12 years. The next designers are still a surprise. We’ll announce it on the Facebook page of Wedding Essentials,” says Zapata.

The road show runs until Oct. 4 at SM Mall of Asia atrium.

Wedding Essentials will also celebrate its 12th anniversary on Oct. 1 with a bridal exhibition and fashion show entitled “Tadhana” at Manila Hotel.
