Fresh from its highly publicized launch at the 6th Philippine International Motor Show, the Nissan GT-R has finally landed in the Philippines. For those keen to know where they can make a reservation and pick up the unit, it will be exclusively available at the Nissan High Performance Center (NHPC), formerly Nissan Quezon Avenue.

MGM Motors Inc., owner of Nissan Ortigas and Nissan Quezon Ave. was recently appointed as the official distributor of the Nissan GT-R in the Philippines.  Their Quezon Avenue dealership is now an NHPC, and is the only authorized seller and service center of the 2017 Nissan GT-R.  A facility was built for the Nissan GT-Rs with specialized equipment like a Jon Beam four wheel alignment, SST Tools for GT-Rs, a Celette Electric Body Aligner and Program Consult 3+ for GT-Rs.  It’s also the first dealership to adopt Nissan’s new Corporate Image.

Becoming the sole authorized distributor of the Nissan GT-R is no easy feat.  Nissan’s high performance service technicians require specialized training and equipment to ensure all the GT-R’s sold locally are kept on the road. A Nissan service center can only be called an NHPC after undergoing rigorous screening and achieving exceptional standards of quality.  NHPC’s are staffed with Nissan GT-R experts who are specifically trained and dedicated to providing the best in service and customer care.

To celebrate this milestone, a party was held at Nissan Quezon Avenue/NHPC attended by customers; the local motoring media; Ramesh Narasimhan, the President and Managing Director of Nissan Philippines Inc. (NPI); and Hiroshi Tamura of Nissan Motor Company, Chief Product Specialist of the Nissan GT-R.nissan 2

“As the first and only Nissan High Performance Centre in the country, we promise to give you the best GT-R service readiness that you can imagine.  NHPC has also invested in equipping proper special tools and trained technicians by none other than the Japan-based Masuhiro Tsukadaira technicians so that GT-R customers should have peace of mind when they purchase one from the NHPC,” said Willy Tee Ten, MGM Motors Inc. CEO and President.

“We are confident that under the leadership of MGM Motors Inc., the country’s first NHPC will be able to deliver on the task of housing the legendary super sports car, the 2017 Nissan GT-R. After passing a rigorous screening process, as well as MGM Motors Inc.’s vast experience in handling premium vehicles, we believe that the team embodies the same passion and enthusiasm as our GT-R customers and has met strict criteria in terms of customer satisfaction, resources and location relative to customers,” said Narasimhan.

The Nissan GT-R is a two-door, four passenger coupe. It is powered by a 3.8 liter 24-valve V6 twin turbo. This engine delivers 570-PS and 637-Nm of torque to all four wheels via the ATTESA E-TS all wheel drive system. It’s priced at P7,350,000 and is exclusively available at the Nissan High Performance Center.

Auto enthusiasts frequently call the GT-R by its nickname, Godzilla. It originated from when an all-wheel drive system was first into the model line in 1989, the vehicle saw undisputed dominance in several international motor sports events from 1990 -1992, leading the foreign press to dub the GT-R as “Godzilla,” being the monster from Japan. The nickname has stuck to this day and with every successive model, owing to the vehicle’s exceptional performance.
