Audi unveils the all new A4, A7, and Q3

New vehicles for an auspicious mid autum festival

The all-new Audi A4 is now available in the Philippines. Exclusive distributor, PGA Cars, Inc., took the wraps off the premium executive sedan from Ingolstadt last Sept. 19. Audi noted the vehicle is more powerful, more efficient, and more intelligent thanks to numerous technologies that set the bar higher for its segment.

The new vehicle features the signature Singleframe grille new LED headlights with built-in daytime running lights (DRLs) and new LED tail-lights with more distinctive signal lamps. In spite of the new eyes, the vehicle still retains its sleek and elegant design.

Powering the A4 is a 2.0-liter, inline-four turbocharged diesel engine that delivers 150 hp and 320 Nm of torque. It is paired to seven-speed, S tronic dual-clutch transmission. This allows the front-wheel drive A4 2.0 TDI S tronic to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.7 seconds, and on to a top speed of 220 km/h. Its 245/35 R19 low-profile tires return appropriate grip to help it accelerate or slow down confidently.

When it comes to handling, improvements in the chassis and the steering system filter out unwanted car movements brought about by road imperfections. This improvement is brought about by the newly-developed five-link suspension and power steering system. The vehicle is also extremely lightweight, allowing for dynamic behavior and ride comfort, and at the same time, reducing fuel consumption.

The interior boasts of superb workmanship, finely coordinated colors and materials, and logical, intuitive controls. Like its stablemates, the A4 is now equipped with the Audi virtual cockpit as standard, being a fully-digital 12.3-inch LCD instrument cluster with customizable views. Valuable road feedback is delivered to the driver through the three-spoke, leather-wrapped, multi-function sports steering wheel with shift paddles.

Operation has also become even more intuitive with Audi drive select and the new Audi MMI Navigation Plus. Located on the center console, the MMI control has been redesigned, and serves as the main control element. A touchpad is integrated in the MMI control panel for the infotainment system, which is composed of the MMI Navigation Plus with MMI Touch, and a seven-inch multimedia interface.

The A4 also features numerous safety and assistance systems. Dual front airbags are complemented by front side airbags and full curtain airbags, while park assist, parking aid plus, service indicator, and flat tire indicator round out the package.

The A4 is offered in the 2.0 TDI DCT variant for P3,850,000. 1.4-liter TFSI and 2.0-liter TFSI models of the new A4 will arrive at a later date.

Besides the A4, PGA Cars also presented the new Audi A7 3.0 TFSI quattro S-Line. The sportback, owing to its fastback rear profile, is propelled by a 3.0-liter V6 petrol engine that delivers 333 hp and 440 Nm of torque, which is coursed through a seven-speed, S tronic dual-clutch transmission and quattro all-wheel drive. This brings the car from a standstill to 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds, and to a top speed of 250 km/h. It also features Audi drive select and new LED headlights and taillights. Being an S-Line, it has sportier bumpers and a rear diffuser, and is wrapped in 265/35 R20 tires for that aggressive-yet-sleek look.

Finally, the its small premium SUV, the new Q3, is powered by a 1.4 TFSI engine that offers 150 hp and 250 Nm of torque. The engine features the highly-innovative cylinder on demand (COD) system, which reduces fuel consumption by up to 20 percent when driven moderately. At low to moderate load and engine speed, COD deactivates cylinders two and three by closing the valves, and shutting off fuel injection. The engine runs as a two-cylinder engine until the driver presses down harder on the gas pedal. This front-wheel drive SUV has a six-speed, S tronic dual-clutch transmission that helps it go from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.9 seconds, and to a top speed of 204 km/h. It features a new hexagonal grille, as well as new LED daytime running lights and taillights.

The Audi A4, A7, and Q3, are available for viewing and inquiries at any of the Audi Philippines showrooms located in Greenhills, Bonifacio Global City, and Alabang.
