The country’s top automotive brands will once again gather under one roof for the Sixth Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) this Sept. 14-18, at the World Trade Center in Pasay City. Members of the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI), comprised of 18 of the top car manufacturers and distributors, gathered at The Marriot to drum up support for the upcoming event.

This year’s PIMS is guided by the theme, “Steer The Future” with the tagline “CAMPI: Driving Progress, Empowering Society.” As such, the show will highlights the automotive industry’s valuable contributions to the advancement of the country and its economy, with a showcase the latest vehicles and automotive technologies. Set to participate in this years event are: BAIC, BMW, Daewoo Bus, Foton, Honda, Isuzu, Jeep, KIA, Lexus, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi Motors, Nissan, Peugeot, Suzuki, Toyota, and Volkswagen.

The show is made more momentous with CAMPI’s welcoming of two new members, Foton and Ssangyong.

“PIMS is proof that the automotive industry remains robust these past few years. We are excited to stage it this year as we lead Filipinos to a future of better mobility and transportation, and contribute to the country’s progress,” said CAMPI President Atty. Rommel Gutierrez.

In 2015, the automotive industry surpassed its sales target of 272,000 vehicles when CAMPI members sold a total of 288,609 units. CAMPI member sales figures comprise 85 percent of the total automotive industry. This year, CAMPI is confident of achieving its initial target on the back of continued supply of vehicles, attractive promos, and affordable financing schemes, among other economic indicators. The automotive industry has enjoyed double digit growth since 2012.

The show itself promises to be a showcase of the latest automotive technologies coupled with exciting activities for visitors, be they motoring enthusiasts, kids, or kids-at-heart.

In the past, PIMS has served as the stage for the debut of all-new models with this year following in that tradition.. Among the much awaited unveilings will be Daewoo Bus’s BS120SN EURO5, the McLaren-Honda MP4-30 Formula 1 car, the Jeep Renegade, the new Kia Soul 1.6L EX, the Mazda CX-3, the Mitsubishi Outlander plug-in hybrid vehicle (PHEV), the new Nissan GT-R, the all-new Toyota Prius, and the Volkswagen CC.

PIMS will have an After-Sales Pavilion with showcase packages on vehicle upgrades, repair services, and quality genuine parts for different vehicle models, old and new, to allow customers to have the best possible ownership experience.

The cars aren’t simply there to be looked at as outside the venue will be a test drive area for participating car manufacturers, allowing car shoppers to test drive some of the very vehicle models displayed.

Naturally, affiliated organizations of participating car brands will hold club meets to promote camaraderie among car enthusiasts.

PIMPS partners will also be hosting activities like the TopGear Drift Box Challenge, C! Challenge and Kiddie Day Care activities, and Karcher Car Wash activity, which will happen in various locations in and around World Trade Center Metro Manila.

Those in the industry will also benefit from the various automotive seminars and workshops to be held, from service technician skills demonstration events, as well as Q&A session regarding vehicle concerns.

There will also be welcome breaks from the dizzying atmosphere with a Coffee House with music and entertainment.
