The company manufactures and distributes animal health and nutrition products for swine, poultry, gamefowl, pigeons, dogs and fish. To bolster its capability to meet the requirements of the industry, it has formed alliances with global leaders in the field of animal health and nutrition such as Akey Nutrition and Research Center, Alltech, Novus International and Royal DSM in the development of new specialty ingredients, innovative products, new inputs and technologies.

UNAHCO president and COO Ricardo C. Alba said: “Celebrating 50 years in the animal health industry, the company is sincerely grateful for the continuous trust, patronage and support of all its loyal customers. One of our greatest pleasures is to see our customers build and grow their businesses, uplift the quality of their lives and help transform the lives of other people, especially those who depend on them for their livelihood. It is the company’s earnest desire to encourage more people to go into agriculture and animal-raising so we can achieve our country’s objective to become self-sufficient in food production.”

Through its business unit Pigrolac, the company recently launched “Pigkitaan Natin”, a pig raising business and livelihood program which aims to encourage more people, especially the overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), to go into piggery business as an additional or an alternative source of income. It offers free comprehensive seminars that teach participants how to put up and run a profitable piggery business.

The participants may choose from two available modules: Farrow-to-finish operations, and grow out operations, with topics ranging from housing to nutrition, farm management, biosecurity, and herd health program. This program also provides basic investment guide and technical assistance to participants who decide to put up their own piggery business.

At present, UNAHCO manufactures and distributes agricultural, veterinary and feed products for various livestock and aqua species. Through United Agrivet Distribution (UAD) the company has opened its doors to all local and foreign companies in search of a distribution arm to distribute their products in the Philippines. One of UAD’s strengths is the huge distribution network of UNAHCO which includes more than 100 motorized field personnel and more than three thousand distributors, dealers and sub-dealer outlets located in strategic areas around the country.
