For two days, K-pop fans had the time of their lives hobnobbing with Korean boy band Seventeen, who invaded Manila recently for their first-ever fan meeting.

Titled “Shining Diamonds: 1st Asia Pacific Tour,” the event was held at The Theatre of Solaire Resort & Casino.

Group members Hoshi, DK, Vernon, Wonwoo, Joshua, S.Coups, Woozi, Seungkwan, Dino and Jeonghan revealed it is their first time in the Philippines.

Mingyu, 19, on the other hand, shared he visited Cebu when he was young.

“I was Grade 2,” he said, going on to introduce himself saying, “Ako si Mingyu. Mabuhay. Mahal kita.”

S.Coups apologized that members Jun and The8 weren’t able to take part in the tour.

“But the rest of the members are here to do their share so, please cheer for us while watching the show,” he said.

Seventeen opened the fan meet performing “Shining Diamond” followed by “Rock” and “Chuck.”

Vernon, Woozi and S.Coups then performed “Q&A” while DK and Seungkwan sang “Say Yes.”

They also performed “Popular Song,” “Adore U,” “Mansae,” “Pretty U,” “Very Nice,” “Healing,” and “Love Letter.”

To show their love for the boys, Filipino fans of the group who call themselves Carats, threw paper planes and waved balloons and banners during the shows.

The paper planes “really touched my heart,” said Hoshi.

The boys were quite game during the question and answer portion. At one point, Joshua and Seungkwan even spelled Manila using their bodies.

As bonus, fans had the chance to meet them up close through Hi Touch. The group also allowed for photo-ops after the show.

“Thanks for giving me such good memories. See you guys next time,” said Hoshi.

Mingyu promised, “Next time I would love to visit again and have such a wonderful concert with you guys.”
“Ingat kayo,” the boys told the fans as they bid goodbye.

“Shining Diamonds: 1st Asia Pacific Tour” was presented by Pledis Entertainment and Three Angles Group.
