Michael Cinco reveals Pinoy-inspired collection in Paris Fashion Week

Filipino fashion designer Michael Cinco proudly presented his newest Filipino-inspired collection in the Paris Fashion Week, July 3.

The Dubai-based couture designer is the first Filipino designer who used banig in his collection in the Asian Couture Federation and COUTURiSSIMO.

Aside from banig (woven mat), Cinco also featured barong and terno creations highlighting ikat designs and solihiya-inspired embroidery.

Posted in his Facebook, the 41-year-old designer took the chance to thank the Asian Couture Federation for the opportunity to showcase his dreams.

The Dubai-based couture designer was born in Catbalogan City in Sama He took up Fine Arts at the University of the Philippines in Diliman, then transferred to Slim’s Fashion & Art’s School in Manila, two years after. To further his studies in fashion and pattern making, Cinco went to Central Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design in London.
