According to the Commercial Observer, Jollibee Food Corporation is set to open a branch in Manhattan, bringing joy to more customers with its Chicken Joy, Yumburgers, and Jolli Spaghetti meals.

Newmark Grubb Knight Frank (NGKF) Retail said the fast-food restaurant will be positioned exactly at the ground-floor space of Ashkenazy Acquisition Corporation’s, 609 Eighth Avenue, the Commercial Observer reported.

The area comprises of 1,957 square feet and an additional 766 square feet basement. The deal will last for ten years with $300 renting fee per square meter.

Jollibee is considered to be in an ideal location that “further solidifies the strength of this sub-market,” Daniel Iwanicki, senior vice president of Ashkenazy acquisition Corporation, told the Commercial Observer.

NGKF Retail’s Harrison Abramowitz also agreed, when he said “There is a large Filipino population in New Jersey, many of whom commute through Port Authority every day. This will be a tremendous help in introducing the chain to Manhattan”.

With 890 restaurants worldwide, Jollibee continues to expand, making it known as the “McDonald’s of the Philippines,” wrote The New York Times.
