A grand wedding

The moment was magical like champagne bubble bursting. The Bryan Chua and Micheleen Subia nuptials had it all, a combination of elegance, style, grandeur, and clearly a love match. Looking every inch like a princess in a Veluz bridal gown, the radiant bride drew raves as Ernesto Subia led his daughter down the aisle at the Santuario de San Antonio, Forbes Park. Bryan is the son of Peru consul general Francis Chua and Tanzania consul Betty Chua while Micheleen is the daughter of businessman Ernesto and Pacita Subia.

The mass was officiated by His Eminence Ricardo J. Cardinal Vidal, the Most Reverend Honesto Ongtioco, the Most  Reverend John Du, Monsignor Joseph Tan, Fr. Marcelo Manimtim, Fr. Held at the New Marriott grand ballroom, the reception was nothing short of magnificent. It definitely left a lasting impression. Event stylist Nikki Chato used up the grandness of space to create a Gatsby-inspired theme. Shimmering chandelier made of crystal beads dropped from the lofty ceiling and the well-designed lighting scheme accentuated the decorative motif. The stage had a backdrop of the Vienna State Opera. Armloads of blooms filled the VIP and guest tables. After the family’s heartfelt speeches and champagne toast to the newlyweds, members of the diplomatic and consular corps danced the cotillion. Among those who participated were former Philippine ambassador to the Russian Federation Victor Garcia and Connie Garcia, former Australian consul general Hugh Wilson and Georgette Wilson, and Timor-Leste consul general Lito Jimenez and Nikki Jimenez. Consul to Eritrea George Yang sang with the Manila Symphony Orchestra.

Chinese executive chef Law Wing Wui, aided by his stellar culinary team, created mouthwatering dishes such as braised live lobster with efu noodles, lamb chops with mint, and steamed garoupa. The appetizer and dessert were superb.

Bryan and Micheleen are kindred spirits, alike in their interests—working out together, going on movie dates, and traveling. It was a special wedding, planned with love and happiness, knowing that each has found the other and will spend the rest of their lives together.
