Wizards rip Magic anew

Washington – When the Washington Wizards wanted to put away Orlando again, they turned to John Wall and Kris Humphries.

Wall had 24 points and 13 assists, Humphries scored all 11 of his points in the fourth quarter and the Wizards extended their dominance against the Magic with a 103-91 victory Friday night.

It was Washington’s 11th straight win – three this season – over the improving Magic, who entered with a 13-5 record since Nov. 25, best in the Eastern Conference. Wall scored 12 points in the final period and the Wizards went on a 15-3 run that gave them a 93-81 lead with 3:51 left.

Humphries had a season-high 23 points on Nov. 14 in the previous meeting between the teams, and Wall has been on quite a roll lately. He’s compiled eight consecutive games with more than 11 assists, the only NBA player to do that this season.

“If I knew that a combination was going to work, I’d be a hell of a coach. It’s just a hunch,” Washington coach Randy Wittman said.

Otto Porter added 20 points and 11 rebounds for the Wizards. Marcin Gortat had 10 points with 14 rebounds.

Victor Oladipo led Orlando with 20 points. Nikola Vucevic had 14.
